HEAD CARE™ PILLOW FOR INFANTS

SPECIALISED HEAD CARE™ PILLOWS FOR INFANTS

Head Care™ pillow is an effective method of prevention and treatment of positional head deformities.Used as a precaution, it prevents the infant’s head from flattening; it is also perfect for the treatment of various types of mild and moderate positional flattening. The orthopaedic pillow Head Care™ is useful not only in bed, but also in the baby carriage; it can be taken everywhere, providing the child with the optimal head position during sleep and relax in any place and at any time.

EFFECTIVE PREVENTION

Head Care™ pillow protects the natural shape of your child’s head. The pillow can be used as a precaution, reducing the contact pressure of the surface on the child’s head by enlarging the contact surface. The back of the child’s head rests in a circular hole, while behind the neck there is a flexible and comfortable wedge, adjusted to the child’s size. The soft child’s head is no longer exposed to the harmful pressure of the mattress. With Head Care™ orthopaedic pillow for newborn babies and infants, the risk of head flattening is close to zero.

DEFORMITYREDUCTION

Head Care™ pillow effectively reduces the existing mild and moderate head deformities. The child’s head resting on the pillow develops in an optimum way, growing freely and naturally in the flattened areas, reaching its normal shape. The pillow provides large contact surface and better distribution of pressure.

CORRECT SLEEPING POSITION

Thanks to the unique design of the pillow, its ergonomic shape, and the specially formed place for the child’s head, Head Care™ pillow provides perfect sleeping conditions and helps the child maintain the correct sleeping position (the pillow’s construction keeps the child’s head and spine in an optimum, natural position). This way you do not have to worry that your child will change his or her position when sleeping.

Through the stabilisation of the supine position, Head Care™ orthopaedic pillow helps prevent SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, or the so called cot death).

SAFETY

Head Care™ pillows are produced in the territory of the European Union and they are made of soft, comfortable cotton which regulates humidity and heat. The pillow cover is made of 100% cotton, and its filling is high-quality polyester, also made in the EU.

Head Care™ pillows are safe and natural. The pillows are made of certified materials suitable for contact with children. The materials were tested for harmful substances and they have the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certificate. They were also tested for flammability – Fira Certificate.

BEST HEAD HYGIENE

The orthopaedic pillows Head Care™ provide the best head hygiene – the pillows are hypoallergenic, antistatic, free of harmful substances, and resistant to mites and fungi.

The pillows are easy to clean. The corrective Head Care™ pillows can be washed in a washing machine. (The colour cover should be washed in 30°C.The white cover and the filling can be washed in 60°C.)

RECOMMENDED BY SPECIALISTS

Experts – paediatricians and therapists recommend the use of Head Care™ pillows for infants.

Since 1990, there has been a significant (sixfold) increase in plagiocephaly diagnostics. The increase is connected with the American Academy of Pediatrics recommendations concerning healthy infants sleeping on the back, which reduces the risk of SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome).

Back sleeping facilitates the occurrence of head deformities, nonetheless, the SIDS risk is obviously a more serious problem. From the first day of their life, infants should be back sleeping both during a nap and at night, so it is recommended to use Head Care™ pillows and similar to prevent head deformities.

HIGH-RISK GROUPS

Head Care™ pillow has been created for preventive use for all newborn babies and infants, especially for children who prefer only one head position (their head is always lying on one side) and for those who belong to the high-risk groups, i.e.:

  • premature babies (their skullsare very soft for a long time, which is why they are more prone to deformities). Many premature babies stay for a long time in incubators, connected to ventilators, with their heads in one still position. The disease related to premature birth is called dolichocephaly), – twins and other multiple birth siblings,
  • boys,
  • infants with torticollis (this condition is very often linked to plagiocephaly, as the child keeps his or her head on the mattress always in the same position and in the course of time it gets more and more resistant to turning),
  • infants suffering from asymmetry of neck muscle tension, hip dysplasia, neonatal clavicle fracture, obstetric brachial plexus palsy, central nervous system diseases, musculoskeletal disorders, sensory system disorders (visual, auditory).

You must pay special attention to the strong preference of the head’s position and control the shape of the child’s head, especially during the first four months!

Parents often have problems with turning their children to the other side when they are sleeping, especially if the child is accustomed to sleeping in one position only. When they are three months old, children who got used to sleeping on the flattened side do not accept any repositioning. That is why HeadCare™ pillow is the best solution from the very first days of the child’s life, as it helps avoid serious deformities.

Positional flattening has become very frequent since the “Back to Sleep” campaign. The campaign was introduced about twenty years ago by the American Academy of Pediatrics, which recommends placing children on their back when they are sleeping in order to reduce the risk of SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome).Putting infants on their back is very important because of the SIDS risk, but at the same time it may cause head deformities, which is why we encourage you to use HeadCare™ pillow.

If you notice any head deformity, you need to consult a doctor for a correct medical diagnosis.
